Women of the Bible: Mary

"I am the Lord's servant, may it be to me as you have said."
(Luke 1:46-55)
Mary made that amzaing statement after the angel, Gabriel, came to tell her that she would give birth to the Son of the most high God. That must have been a terrifying thought to Mary. People believe that Mary may not have been much older then 16 or 17 at this time and yet she responds with very mature faith. Not questioning God or wondering why He would do these things to her, but in utter and complete faith, she laid aside her own comfort to do God's will. In those days, a woman could be stoned for being unfaithful to her pledged husband. Could you easily say those words when God asks you to do something that may cause you pain? Are you willing to be the Lord's servant no matter what the cost? To trust Him wholly with your future?

Forever His,
