Woman of the Bible: Ruth

The book of Ruth is an amazing book that tells of the young widow, Ruth and her devotion to her mother-in-law, Naomi. Ruth chooses to leave all she knows to accompany Naomi, to a strange land. She finds work, and favor with a distant relative, Boaz. In time, she becomes his wife and "lives happily ever after." ;) Ruth exhibits MANY amazing character traits, including:

• Commitment (Ruth 1:16 - "But Ruth replied, 'Don't urge me to leave you or to turn back from you, Where you go, I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.'")
• Perseverance and Hard work (Ruth 2:7 "'...She went into the field and has worked steadliy from morning till now, except for a short rest in the shelter.'")
• Courage (Ruth 2:11 "'I've been told all about what you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband--how you left your father and mother and your homeland and came to live with a people you did not know before.'")
• Obedience (Ruth 3:6 - "'I will do whatever you say,' Ruth answered.")
• Devotion (Ruth...the whole book perty much! :)

Wow...Ruth was certainly amazing! I admire her greatly!
